Innovation sprint

From one category question to three sized product concepts in a deck, ready for a gate review. Everything happens in one project, so each step reads the one before.

  1. 1

    Ask the category question

    Consumer Insights~10 min

    Start on the Consumer Insights page. One question that spans your documents, the market data and search interest. Read the Overall tab, then open the Data tab for the figures.

    Prompt
    How is the [category] performing in [market], and what do consumers say drives their choice?

    You getA thread with a cited answer and a chart of the category trend. You will attach it to the project in the next step.

    Scope the question with a market and a period. "Tell me everything about our category" gives you a weaker answer than this one.

  2. 2

    Map the trends

    @Trends Exploration~10 min

    Open Projects, pick your brand, click + and attach the thread from step 1 under From Consumer Insights. Then call the agent.

    Prompt
    @Trends Exploration Trends shaping the [category] in [market], from established to emerging, using the attached thread

    You getTen trend cards by horizon with signals to watch. Select the three or four that matter for your brand.

    Selection matters: the next agents read your selected cards, not all ten.

  3. 3

    Find the occasions

    @Occasion~10 min

    Ask for the consumption or usage moments, referencing the trends you selected.

    Prompt
    @Occasion Occasions where [category] is used in [market], building on #Trends Exploration

    You getOccasion cards with what people seek in each and who you compete with. Select two.

    Two occasions is enough to shape distinct territories. Five dilutes the next step.

  4. 4

    Open the territories

    @Creative Territories~15 min

    Ask for innovation territories, not campaign ideas: say so in the prompt.

    Prompt
    @Creative Territories Innovation territories [brand] could own in [market], one per selected occasion in #Occasion

    You getTerritory cards with proposition and manifesto. Select the two you would defend in a room.

    Use the Map view with "innovation level vs brand fit" axes to compare before you select.

  5. 5

    Generate the concepts

    @NPD Exploration~20 min

    Now the products. Reference the territories so the concepts stay inside them. Select three, then Generate their images and long descriptions.

    Prompt
    @NPD Exploration New product concepts for [brand] in [market] inside the territories in #Creative Territories

    You getTen concepts with consumer insight, product and how it is made. Three selected, with images.

    Set the NPD reference image in the brand art direction first, or the products will not look like yours.

  6. 6

    Size the prize

    @Business Case~15 min

    Size the revenue of the best concept. Adjust the assumptions in the chat until they match what you know.

    Prompt
    @Business Case Size the revenue potential in [market] of the first concept selected in #NPD Exploration

    You getA business case with market, share and cannibalization assumptions and a low to high range.

    Ask @Data first if you need today's category figures: "[category] volume and value in [market], last three years".

  7. 7

    Package the deck

    Package as file~5 min

    In the Outputs panel, click Package as file, choose Slide deck, keep the trends, occasions, territories, concepts and business case ticked, click Generate.

    You getA slide deck in Outputs with the brand cover, downloadable as PowerPoint, PDF or Word.

    Rename the deck from its card before you download it; the name becomes the file name.

What you have now

One project holding the whole chain: the category thread, trends, occasions, territories, three concepts with images, a sized business case and a deck. Rerun any step with a new brief; the ones after it still read your selections.
